534 Frenchmen St, New Orleans, LA 70116 – (504) 948-2583

New Orleans, LA. – October 3, 2007 – Singer-songwriter Sara Wasserman, whose vocals have captivated audiences everywhere, will appear accompanied by her father, Grammy-winning bassist Rob Wasserman and Los Angeles-based producer/pianist Randy Emata. New Orleans trumpet legend Irvin Mayfield will appear as a special guest.

They will perform an evening of Sara’s original songs from her forthcoming debut CD of acoustic soul and blues, as well as classic standards and high moments of musical improvisation. Her upcoming release features collaborations with Aaron Neville, Lou Reed, Soulive, and Christian McBride, among others.

Sara showcased at SXSW ’07, and her original song “You Got Me” was recently featured on ABC’s hit show “Falcon Beach.”

Rob Wasserman, founder with Bob Weir of the band RatDog, is presently touring with Lou Reed, and will release his Woody Guthrie-based collaboration with producer Joe Henry “My Name is New York”, on Anti- Records in 2008.

Randy Emata, keyboardist and producer, is best known for his work with Carlos Santana, Rosie Gaines, and most recently, master percussionist Giovanni Hidalgo.

Opening the show will be New Orleans’ own Davis Rogan. Take the enthusiasm and playfulness of early New Orleans rhythm and blues, add to that the bright yet cynical wit of Ben Folds Five, the rock meets jazz sensibilities of early Steely Dan, and the mocking humor that runs through the works of Frank Zappa, Professor Longhair, Allen Toussaint, Earl King and Ernie K Doe, and you begin to describe the music of Davis Rogan. He first came to prominence in the New Orleans music scene with his eight piece funk group ALL THAT, for which he was lead singer, band leader, principle songwriter, arranger and producer. With three albums to their credit, including one on Rounder Records co-produced with Scott Billington, he band touring extensively in North America and Canada, performed at the New Orleans Jazz and Heritage Festival multiple times and sold over 10,000 records in the US and Japan. At the Blue Nile he will be performing with a 4 piece band that includes the legendary Jimbo Walsh on bass.
